Advanced Technology, Expert Technique — Dental Restorations Made for Strength & Beauty!
At some point in your life, one or more of your teeth will need a minor or major restoration. The Doctors at Sneed Dental Arts have advanced training and state-of-the-art technology for restorations that are strong and durable, as well as attractive and natural-looking.
Depending on your situation, Dr. Sneed can fill cavities with a traditional metal amalgam or a composite, tooth-colored resin that looks just like your real tooth. Both types of dental fillings are durable and dependable.
Inlays and onlays are porcelain restorations that are used when a cavity is too big for a tooth-colored filling, or when metal fillings are removed that took up most of your tooth. An inlay covers the top of your tooth, up to the cusps (points). An onlay will extend over one or more of the cusps.
A tooth that’s completely lost can be devastating, but there are more solutions than ever to replace it. A bridge is made of two crowns that fit over the teeth on either side of a false tooth to fill the gap left by the lost tooth. It’s custom-colored to your teeth, and doesn’t look any different than your natural teeth.
When you’ve lost all or most of your teeth, dentures are often the best replacement option. The doctors at Sneed Dental Arts can place traditional dentures for you that rest on the gums and are fixed with an adhesive.
If you have sufficient bone strength in your jaws, she can also suggest implant-supported dentures. First, titanium screws are strategically placed in jawbone, sometimes as few as two implants per arch. Then your dentures are made with precisely aligned holes so the dentures “snap” onto the implants. The result is a stronger, more secure denture, with less worry about slippage or what you can eat.
If you’ve lost teeth, it’s important to replace them as soon as possible so your jawbones continue to receive the stimulation they need to retain their strength and support your face.
Dental implants are titanium screws surgically placed in the jawbone. They replace the tooth’s root, so the jaws keep their strength and structure.
Dr. Sneed has received the special training needed to place your implants or mini-implants from start to finish. Once the implant site has healed, she bonds a porcelain crown to an abutment, a support for the crown placed on top of the implant.
Dr. Sneed will perform root canal treatments on both premolar and molar teeth. She is also experienced in tooth extraction and will do minor extractions, as well as more involved work such as wisdom teeth removal or bony extractions.
We will keep you comfortable and pain free if you need procedures such as oral surgery for extractions. We use nitrous oxide and oral sedation to relax you, and Dr. Sneed’s colleague, Dr. Angelici, is certified to deliver IV sedation if it’s the best option for your procedure. Of course you will need someone to drive you to the appointment and home afterwards if you’re having IV sedation.
